High school baseball rankings: Reno jumps into MaxPreps Top 25 after winning Boras Classic in Arizona
No. 17 Huskies downed Bishop Gorman, Hamilton, two others to win prestigious West Coast tournament.
Big weeks by Reno (Nev.), Jenks (Okla.) and Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) propelled the three teams into this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school baseball rankings.
Reno won the Boras Classic in Arizona, beating nationally ranked Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) and Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.). The Huskies won their first 11 games of the season before dropping the second game of the Anaheim Lions Tournament to La Mirada. Reno comes in at No. 17 with Hamilton at No. 18 and Bishop Gorman No. 19.
Santa Margarita, meanwhile, opened Trinity League play with three straight wins over JSerra Catholic, last year's league champion. ...
