Chase Headley plates two runs in rehab debut

Padres third baseman Chase Headley began his minor-league rehab assignment Monday with Class A Lake Elsinore. Headley, who served as a designated hitter, doubled in a run in the opening frame and drove in another on a ground out in the second. He finished 1 for 3 with a run scored, a walk and two RBI.

Headley is expected to come off the disabled list Saturday, the first day he's eligible.
