Lough signed a minor-league deal with the Indians on Tuesday.
He will report to Triple-A Columbus and serve as organizational left-handed hitting depth. Lough signed a minor-league deal with the Tigers this past winter but failed to make the Opening Day roster and was released last week after hitting .169/.210/.203 in 63 plate appearances.

David Lough: Cut loose from contract Wednesday
Lough was released by the Tigers' Triple-A affiliate Wednesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
The Tigers decided to cut Lough loose after the 31-year-old got off to a slow start with Triple-A Toledo, slashing just .169/.210/.203 across 24 games. He's seen time in the majors in each of the last five seasons, so he'll likely latch on as organizational depth elsewhere.

Tigers' David Lough: Latches on with Tigers on minor league deal
Lough signed with the Tigers on a minor league contract, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN reports.
The journeyman outfielder spent a good chunk of time at the major league level with the Phillies last season, although he was ultimately released in August due to posting a sub-.700 OPS both in the majors and with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Although Detroit's center field situation is still pretty murky, it would take an uncharacteristically strong spring from Lough for him to supplant Tyler Collins, Mikie Mahtook, or JaCoby Jones for big-league playing time.

Marlins' David Lough: Signed by Marlins
Lough signed a minor league contract with Miami on Monday.
The 30-year-old outfielder will report to Triple-A New Orleans after being released by the Phillies last week. He slashed just .239/.342/.313 in 30 games with Philadelphia this season but could provide outfield depth as the Marlins make their playoff push.

Lough could see his playing time reduced as manager Pete Mackanin said he intends to give Tyler Goeddel increased playing time, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Goeddel has started three straight games in left field for the Phillies. Mackanin admitted he needs to give Goeddel more playing time over veterans like David Lough and Emmanuel Burris, who have no long-term future with the team. Lough is hitting .263 with a stolen base in 38 at-bats with the Phillies since his recall from the minors. He should still continue to see some action in left as well as right field.
