  • Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Fans 10 in no-decision

Taillon didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Pirates, allowing six runs on six hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts across six innings.

Taillon was in line for the loss, but the Cubs rallied back from a three-run deficit to tie it in the eighth before walking off the Pirates in the ninth. Taillon clearly didn't have his best stuff, but when he wasn't serving up home runs to Brandon Lowe, Taillon was piling up the strikeouts. The right-hander fell one short of his career high of 11, which he recorded Sept. 18 of the 2018 season. It was just the fourth time in 226 career regular-season starts that Taillon has recorded double-digit strikeouts. The 34-year-old owns a 4.86 ERA and 17:6 K:BB across 16.2 innings but has served up four home runs over three starts. Taillon is in line to face the Mets at home Saturday.

  • Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Homers costly in loss

Taillon (0-1) was saddled with the loss Monday against the Rays, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and no walks while striking out four in six innings of work.

Taillon had trouble keeping the ball in the yard Monday, making two costly mistakes that accounted for all three of the earned runs he surrendered. The 34-year-old had a solid outing otherwise as he worked through six innings and kept the Cubs in the game. His season-long ERA now sits at 2.53 through two starts with his next scheduled start set for Sunday against the Pirates.

  • Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Struggles with walks in first start

Taillon did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Angels. He pitched 4.2 shutout innings, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out three.

Making his first start of the season, Taillon threw 85 pitches and uncharacteristically struggled with walks after walking just 1.9 batters per nine innings during the 2025 campaign. Taillon's fastball velocity was also down at 90.8 mph after he averaged 92.3 mph last season. Taillon's next start is lined up for Monday in Tampa Bay.

  • Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Spring struggles continue

Taillon allowed six runs on five hits and two walks across 2.1 innings in Monday's Cactus League game against the Reds. He struck out two.

It's been a rough spring so far for Taillon, as he's sitting with a 19.50 ERA through three Cactus League outings. The veteran righty has been tagged for six home runs already in only six innings of work. Taillon saw his HR/9 increase from 1.1 in 2024 to 1.7 last year, which was the worst mark of his MLB career. While he still managed a strong 3.68 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 129.2 regular-season innings, Taillon could struggle to replicate those results in 2026 if he continues to serve up long balls at an elevated rate.

  • Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Struggles in spring debut

Taillon allowed four runs on four hits and a walk across 1.2 innings of work in Friday's Cactus League game against the White Sox. He struck out one.

Making his spring debut, Taillon allowed a pair of home runs and only recorded five outs while tossing 34 pitches. Fantasy managers shouldn't worry too much about spring results for the veteran, as he should be able to round into form before the regular season begins and offer up fairly steady performance. Health is worth monitoring with Taillon, as he made a few trips to the injured list in 2025 and only logged 129.2 regular-season innings, his fewest in a season since 2019.

  • Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Lasts four innings in Game 3

Taillon took a no-decision against the Brewers in Game 3 of the NLDS on Wednesday after giving up two earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out three batters over four innings.

The Brewers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly courtesy of Sal Frelick, but a four-run outburst from the Chicago's offense in the first inning gave Taillon and the Cubs all the runs they would need to prevail in Wednesday's contest. The right-hander's pitch count had climbed to 75 by the end of the fourth, so manager Craig Counsell pulled the plug early on his start, preventing him from leaving the ballpark with a win. If the Cubs are able to complete the series comeback, Taillon would likely be granted another start during the NLCS.

  • Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Tapped for Game 3 start

Taillon will start Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Brewers on Wednesday, Marquee Sports Network report.

Taillon put together a strong outing against the Padres during the wild-card round, hurling four scoreless frames while surrendering two hits and striking out four. He'll be tasked with shutting down an offense that has racked up 24 hits in the first two games of the series in a must-win game for the Cubs at Wrigley Field. It's worth noting that Taillon could be on a short leash Wednesday given it's a win or go home situation for Chicago.
