  • Cardinals' Brandon Dickson: Designated for assignment

Dickson was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Monday, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

Dickson's contract was selected by the Cardinals on Wednesday, and he allowed three runs in two innings across two appearances during his time on the major-league roster. • Cardinals' Brandon Dickson: Call-up coming Wednesday

The Cardinals will add Dickson to their active roster Wednesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Dickson signed a minor-league deal with the Cardinals on June 17 and has struggled with a 10.45 ERA in 10.1 innings since then. The righty hasn't thrown more than an inning in any game this season, so he figures to pitch in short, low-leverage situations for the big-league club in September.
