    Vasquez was released by the Astros Wednesday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

    It was first announced that the MLB had suspended Vasquez indefinitely, which was subsequently followed by the news that the Astros had released him. It is currently unclear what triggered the suspension and release. He was hitting .265 in 60 games for Double-A Corpus Christi.
