  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Getting first day off Thursday

Seager is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Seager will receive his first day off of the season after he started each of the Rangers' first 18 contests. Ezequiel Duran will fill in at shortstop for Seager, who is batting just .152 through 13 games in April but has contributed three home runs, eight RBI, seven runs and one stolen base.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Lifts fifth homer

Seager went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and a second run scored in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Athletics.

Seager has just three hits over his last eight games (3-for-27), but all of those knocks have gone for extra bases. He's also drawn a walk in six of those contests, but he's added 10 strikeouts in that span. The contact has been good for the shortstop when he connects, but he's struggling with the second part of that equation. He's batting .203 with a .774 OPS, five homers, 12 RBI, 12 runs scored, a double and one stolen base over 18 contests.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Three-run blast in loss

Seager went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Dodgers.

Seager got the Rangers on the board in the third inning with his fourth homer of the season. The shortstop also struck out three times in this contest, which continues his struggles with making contact early in the year. He's batting .234 with an .810 OPS, 10 RBI, eight runs scored and a stolen base over 13 contests, but he's now racked up 16 strikeouts and is fanning at a 28.6 percent clip. Seager hasn't exceeded a 20 percent strikeout rate in any of the last eight campaigns, so he'll likely get this issue reined in over time.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Scores, knocks in run in win

Seager went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 2-1 win over Seattle.

Seager, who entered the contest on a 1-for-12 run with zero RBI over the previous three games, turned that trend around immediately. He helped erase an early Seattle lead in the first inning with an RBI single. He later scored the game-winning run. Seager's played all 10 of the Rangers' games thus far and is batting .270 with three home runs, six RBI, a stolen base and seven runs scored.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Goes deep in win

Seager went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 8-5 win over Baltimore.

Seager clubbed his second homer of the season, a solo shot in the ninth inning. The multi-hit effort was the third in five starts for Seager, who is 6-for-18 with four RBI to open the season. The early production is an encouraging sign for the shortstop, who was limited to 102 games in 2025.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Swats first home run of season

Seager went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Phillies.

Seager took a 92-mph fastball from Aaron Nola over the fence for his first home run of the season in the top of the first inning. Seager later singled in the fifth inning. Through two games, Seager is 4-for-8 at the plate with the home run and a pair of runs scored. The veteran shortstop was limited to 102 games last year due to hamstring issues and an appendectomy, but he was productive when available with 21 homers and an .860 OPS.

  • Rangers' Corey Seager: Back in action after illness

Seager (illness) will start at shortstop and bat third in Monday's Cactus League game versus the Guardians.

Seager was scratched from the Rangers' lineup Friday and wound up missing a couple additional days of action due to illness, but he's ready to roll for Monday's tilt. The veteran shortstop is 1-for-7 with a 1:2 BB:K in the early going this spring.
