Rockies' Nick Longhi: Lands minor-league deal
Longhi signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies as a non-roster invitee Wednesday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
Longhi spent the 2020 season with the Red Sox on a minor-league deal, but the 25-year-old has yet to make his first appearance in the big leagues. He'll get to work with the major-league coaching staff in spring training after slashing .283/.336/.463 with 12 home runs and 51 RBI over 110 games with Triple-A Louisville in 2019.

Red Sox's Nick Longhi: Signs with Boston
Longhi signed a minor-league contract which includes an invitation to spring training with the Red Sox on Friday.
Longhi was drafted by the Red Sox in the 30th round back in 2013 before being dealt to the Reds in June of 2017. He underwent Tommy John surgery shortly after the trade and hasn't swung the bat well since, hitting .267/.321/.405 (good for a 91 wRC+) in the high minors over the last two seasons.

Reds' Nick Longhi: Undergoes elbow surgery
Longhi underwent modified Tommy John elbow surgery Tuesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Longhi sustained an injury when he felt a pop in his arm while throwing home from the outfield. He's expected to begin hitting by December and should be ready for spring training. The 21-year-old Longhi was traded to Cincinnati from Boston earlier this month and was off to a promising with his new organization, going 6-for-19 with a .409 on-base percentage, one home run, one double and seven RBI over seven games for Double-A Pensacola.

Reds' Nick Longhi: Dealt to Cincinnati
Longhi was traded from the Red Sox to the Reds on Sunday in exchange for international amateur signing-bonus pool space, Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com reports.
With the Red Sox eager to bring in younger, international talent into their farm system, Longhi, a mid-tier prospect, made for a useful bargaining chip. The 21-year-old first baseman/outfielder is likely still two years or more away from hitting the big leagues, but he should settle into an everyday role at Double-A Pensacola in his new organization. Over 252 plate appearances with Double-A Portland this season, Longhi has slashed .262/.306/.401 with six home runs and 33 RBI.
