Diamondbacks' Jamie Ritchie: Gets minor-league deal with Arizona
Ritchie signed a minor-league contract with Arizona on Monday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Ritchie was part of the Astros' player pool last season but never made it onto the team's active roster. He's heading into his age-28 season and has yet to make his big-league debut, though his career .281/.402/.395 minor-league slash line is quite good for a catcher, albeit a bit light on power.

Astros' Jamie Ritchie: Added to player pool
Ritchie was added to the Astros' 60-man player pool Sunday.
Ritchie, who is not on the 40-man roster, fits the criteria to be in any team's player pool: he has experience as a catcher. The 27-year-old spent the entire 2019 season at Triple-A Round Rock, starting 70 games behind the plate. He slashed .270/.375/.409 with five home runs, 20 doubles and 33 RBI over 301 plate appearances.
