  • Padres' Kyle Lloyd: Outrighted to Triple-A

Lloyd was outrighted to Triple-A El Paso on Monday.

Lloyd was designated for assignment by the Padres last week, but he'll stick in the organization and report to El Paso after passing through waivers untouched. The 27-year-old split most of his time between El Paso and Double-A San Antonio, posting a combined 5.01 ERA across 147.1 innings. He allowed four runs on six hits in four innings during his lone major-league start last season. Look for him to open the 2018 campaign with the Chihuahuas.

  • Padres' Kyle Lloyd: Designated for assignment

Lloyd was designated for assignment by the Padres on Wednesday.

Lloyd was removed from the 40-man roster in order to make room for the recently acquired Colten Brewer. During the 2017 season, Lloyd started one game for San Diego -- his lone appearance with the big-league team -- with most of his time being split between Triple-A El Paso and the Padres' Double-A affiliate.

  • Padres' Kyle Lloyd: Shipped back to minors

Lloyd was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.

Lloyd made his major-league debut Tuesday, but after lasting just four innings in his inaugural start and Travis Wood arriving with the team, he'll head back to the minors to develop further. Reliever Kyle McGrath will take his place on the active roster.

  • Padres' Kyle Lloyd: Lasts just four innings in first MLB start

Lloyd gave up four runs on six hits and a pair of walks over four innings in his MLB debut Tuesday against the Mets. He struck out two and didn't factor into the decision.

After experiencing success in Double-A this year (3.71 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 89 strikeouts in 89.2 innings), Lloyd got promoted to Triple-A, where he's struggled to a 5.65 ERA in five starts, but the Padres apparently felt they had need of him after shipping Trevor Cahill off to the Royals the day before. It's unclear whether Lloyd will remain in the rotation, but even if he does, fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach.

  • Padres' Kyle Lloyd: Called up to make Tuesday's start

Lloyd's contract was selected from Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday. He will start Tuesday night's game against the Mets.

This comes as somewhat of a surprise given that the 26-year-old wasn't on the 40-man roster and that Jhoulys Chacin was expected to start Tuesday. Nonetheless, Lloyd will make his major-league debut at home against Seth Lugo.

  • Padres' Kyle Lloyd: Tosses no-no Saturday

Lloyd threw a no-hitter Saturday against Double-A Frisco, giving up just one walk and striking out three over nine innings.

The right-hander needed just 94 pitches to enter the minor-league history books, earning himself a "Maddux" no-no. Lloyd now carries a 3.20 ERA with 38 strikeouts and 17 walks in 45 innings for Double-A San Antonio on the season. Despite posting a 3.31 ERA in 2016, Lloyd still doesn't have much hype on the club's prospect depth chart.
