Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Saddled with fifth loss
Kochanowicz (2-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three over 5.2 innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Twins.
A three-run fourth inning was enough to send Kochanowicz to his second straight loss. He had posted five straight quality starts before Wednesday's outing fell short of that threshold. The rookie right-hander is now at a 5.08 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB through 44.1 innings over eight starts. He's projected for a favorable home start versus the White Sox in his next outing.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Logs fifth straight quality start
Kochanowicz (2-4) took the loss against the Rangers on Thursday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk over six innings. He did not record a strikeout.
Kochanowicz struggled out of the gate, allowing singles to two of the first three batters he faced before surrendering a three-run homer to Adolis Garcia. However, the right-hander did show some poise as he went on to shut out Texas over the next five innings to log his fifth consecutive quality start, despite also taking his fourth loss of the campaign. Kochanowicz failed to record a strikeout for only the second time in seven starts, and he's still yet to surpass the four-strikeout mark in any outing this season.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Impresses in second win
Kochanowicz (2-4) earned the victory Thursday, allowing five hits and no walks over six scoreless innings against the Tigers. He struck out four.
Kochanowicz was great over six scoreless innings on Thursday, and it's the first time through six MLB outings he's kept an opponent off the scoreboard. Kochanowicz allowed 12 runs in his first two starts but has pitched much better of late, giving up seven runs combined over his last four starts. The rookie right-hander has a 2.45 ERA in those four starts but only has seven strikeouts over 25.2 innings.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Quality start in no-decision
Kochanowicz came away with a no-decision in Friday's 5-4 loss against the Blue Jays. He gave up three runs on seven hits with one strikeout over six innings.
Kochanowicz pitched well Friday to pick up his third consecutive quality start. The rookie right-hander got sent down July 22 after allowing 12 runs in seven innings over his first two big-league starts, but he has been stingier since his return in August. The 6-foot-7 hurler has a 3.20 ERA in his last three starts but has just three strikeouts in the span. He's scheduled for a road start against the Tigers next.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Little run support in loss
Kochanowicz (1-3) took the loss Sunday against Atlanta, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks in six innings. He did not strike out a batter.
Kochanowicz nearly escaped the first inning clean, but Atlanta was able to scratch a run across. They tacked on a second when Ramon Laureano took him deep to open up the fourth to make it a 2-0 game. He's given the Angels some excellent length in his two recent starts, though he did post a 2:4 K:BB in 13.2 innings, so there hasn't been much swing-and-miss with his pitches. He's also given up a home run in all four of his starts thus far. The 23-year-old owns a 6.53 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 7:7 K:BB in 20.2 innings. He lines up for a road start against the Blue Jays his next time taking the mound.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Staying in rotation
Kochanowicz is scheduled to start Sunday against Atlanta at Angel Stadium.
The rookie right-hander will make a second straight turn through the rotation and stick around as the club's No. 5 starter over Davis Daniel, who was optioned to Triple-A Salt on Tuesday. Kochanowicz struck out two batters and allowed just two runs over 7.2 innings en route to claiming his first big-league victory his last time out Sunday against the Nationals, but the 23-year-old was lit up for 12 runs (11 earned) in seven innings across his first two starts with the Angels back in July before he was sent back to the minors.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Successful spot start
Kochanowicz (1-2) earned the victory Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over 7.2 innings against the Nationals. He struck out two.
Kochanowicz was recalled from Double-A to make the spot start, holding the Nationals scoreless through seven prior to a homer by Jacob Young to lead off the eighth frame. He remained in the game and recorded two more outs but was pulled following an RBI single by Luis Garcia. Despite the two late runs, Kochanowicz did more than enough to earn his first big-league win and showed massive improvement over his previous two starts, when he allowed 11 earned runs over seven innings. Kochanowicz is likely to be sent back to the minors following this outing, but it was a promising start for the 23-year-old rookie, who lowered his ERA from 14.14 to 7.98.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Making spot start
Kochanowicz will start Sunday's game against the Nationals, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
With a rainout forcing the Angels into a doubleheader Wednesday, the team was in need of a starter for Sunday's game and recalled Kochanowicz from Double-A Rocket City to fill the void. The 23-year-old has made two starts for the Angels this season, surrendering 11 runs across seven frames. He isn't a recommended streaming option for Sunday.

The Angels recalled Kochanowicz from Double-A Rocket City on Saturday.
Kochanowicz was recalled from Double-A on Wednesday before being optioned back two days later without making an appearance. He'll now rejoin the Angels and will most likely be used as a long relief option out of the bullpen. Jose Marte (illness) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Sent back to minors
The Angels optioned Kochanowicz to Double-A Rocket City on Monday.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Allows seven runs in loss
Kochanowicz (0-2) took the loss against the Athletics on Saturday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts over four innings.
Kochanowicz surrendered a three-run home run to Brent Rooker in the first frame and then four more runs in the fourth. The rookie has yielded 11 earned runs in his first seven major-league innings with five strikeouts and three walks. Should he remain in the rotation, the 23-year-old lines up for a rematch with the Athletics next week.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Getting start Saturday
Kochanowicz will start Saturday's game against the Athletics in Oakland.
The rookie right-hander will be making his second turn through the rotation despite laboring in his MLB debut versus Seattle back on July 11, when he lasted just three innings while surrendering five runs (four earned) on seven hits and no walks. Kochanowicz's spot in the rotation is far from secure over the long haul, so another poor showing in Oakland could put him at risk of a demotion to the minors.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Hit hard in debut
Kochanowicz (0-1) was charged with the loss against the Mariners on Thursday, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits over three innings while striking out one.
The 23-year-old got rocked right out of the gate in his major-league debut, allowing four consecutive hits to open the contest while also hitting Luke Raley with a pitch. Kochanowicz would allow four runs in the frame, though only three would be charged to him on account of a fielding error by Luis Guillorme. Kochanowicz then surrendered a leadoff homer to Cal Raleigh in the third, though the right-hander would at least make it through the inning before being relieved by Kenny Rosenberg to begin the fourth. It was an ugly first start for Kochanowicz, and there's no guarantee the rookie will remain in the rotation coming out of the All-Star break.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Officially promoted
The Angels recalled Kochanowicz from Double-A Rocket City on Thursday ahead of his start versus the Mariners.
Kochanowicz will be making his MLB debut Thursday after posting a 1.85 ERA and 0.94 WHIP across 34 innings during his last five Double-A starts. Davis Daniel was optioned to Triple-A on Wednesday, so the fifth spot in the Angels' rotation currently belongs to Kochanowicz, but the 23-year-old right-hander may be sent back to the minor leagues if he struggles against MLB hitters. In order to free up a spot on the active roster, the Angels optioned Jose Marte to Triple-A.

Kochanowicz will be recalled from Double-A Rocket City to start Thursday's game versus the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Kochanowicz has thrown two complete games over his last three outings, though his overall numbers -- a 4.55 ERA and 79:23 K:BB over 91 innings covering 16 starts -- leave something to be desired. He's taking the rotation spot vacated by Davis Daniel, who was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Optioned to Triple-A
Kochanowicz was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake by the Angels on Friday.
Kochanowicz made a couple scoreless Cactus League appearances, but that wasn't enough to keep him from being an early cut. The right-hander is in need of more seasoning after posting a 5.27 ERA in 21 starts between High-A Tri-City and Double-A Rocket City in 2023.
