Giants' Aeverson Arteaga: Returns from IL
Arteaga (neck) was activated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Arteaga missed time earlier in the year while on the mend from thoracic outlet syndrome surgery, but he's since been cleared for action and has reported to High-A Eugene. He's yet to record a hit in 16 at-bats since being activated, drawing a pair of walks while striking out six times over four games.

Giants' Aeverson Arteaga: Opens season on 60-day IL
High-A Eugene placed Arteaga on its 60-day injured list March 20 while he continues to recover from thoracic outlet syndrome surgery, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.
Arteaga reportedly had the surgery at some point after the 2023 season, and while the exact details of his procedure aren't known, he's presumably not 100 percent when it comes to throwing and/or hitting. The 21-year-old shortstop posted a .235/.299/.409 slash line to go with 17 home runs and eight stolen bases over 546 plate appearances at Eugene last season. He was a candidate to serve as the everyday shortstop for Double-A Richmond had he opened the upcoming season at full health, but the Giants acquired Christian Koss from the Red Sox on Wednesday and will likely turn to him to fill the opening in the middle infield for Richmond.

Giants' Aeverson Arteaga: Having modest season in A ball
Arteaga is hitting .260/.331/.421 with 11 homers, eight steals and a 36:121 BB:K through 98 games for Single-A San Jose.
Arteaga hasn't exactly popped in full-season ball, with his power production down from last season despite playing this year in the hitter-friendly California League. His mediocre batting average would also be worse if not for a rather high .343 BABIP. There's no need to rush to judgment on the 19-year-old shortstop, but Arteaga will need to scorch the ball considerably harder to make up for his fairly high 26.9 percent strikeout rate.

Giants' Aeverson Arteaga: Bat getting positive reviews
Arteaga has "a swing on which I'll gladly bet," according to Keith Law of The Athletic.
He certainly looked good in his first taste of pro ball last year, hitting .294/.367/.503 with nine homers while going a perfect 8-for-8 on steal attempts across 56 games with the rookie-level Giants Orange. Arteaga got into one game at Low-A to end the season, but he's been playing with the High-A club during spring training; that said, it's unclear where he'll be assigned. Either way, he's a name to watch as he enters his first full professional season.
