Herget signed a minor league contract that includes an invitation to spring training with the Mets on Thursday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Herget was designated for assignment by the Mets in late September and became a free agent a few days later. He's now back with the club and will battle for a spot in the team's bullpen during spring training.
