Tigers' Alex Powers: Signs minors deal with Detroit
Powers signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
The 29-year-old righty has yet to make his major-league debut. He had a poor 5.40 ERA in 48.1 innings at the Triple-A level in the Diamondbacks' and Padres' systems last season, though his 28.4 percent strikeout rate was at least somewhat encouraging.

Padres' Alex Powers: Signed by Padres
Powers was signed by the Padres on Friday and assigned to Triple-A El Paso, per his MiLB.com player profile page.
The 29-year-old has a career 3.24 ERA and 34 saves in 213 minor-league appearances, all but two of which have been in relief. He has yet to pitch in the majors but logged a 1.98 ERA across 27.1 innings with the Reds' Triple-A squad in 2019.

Alex Powers: Let go by Reds
Powers was released by the Reds on Monday.
Powers was serving as organizational depth as part of the Reds' 60-man roster, but he apparently didn't make enough of an impact to remain with the organization. The 28-year-old posted a 1.98 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 27.1 innings at Triple-A in 2019.

Reds' Alex Powers: To provide bullpen depth
Powers will be a part of the Reds' 60-man player pool this season.
A 28-year-old right-handed reliever, Powers is not on the Reds' 40-man roster and is unlikely to play a major role this season. He had a 1.98 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 33 strikeouts in 27.1 innings at Triple-A last season.
