Guardians' Tanner Burns: Reinstated from IL
Burns (shoulder) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list at Double-A Akron on Saturday.
Burns had been on the injured list for nearly a month due to a right shoulder strain, but he'll be available for Saturday's game against Double-A Richmond. The 23-year-old made five starts at Akron to begin the year, and he posted a 1.69 ERA, 27:11 K:BB and 1.18 WHIP in 21.1 innings.

Guardians' Tanner Burns: Goes on IL with shoulder strain
Double-A Akron placed Burns on its 7-day injured list Monday with a right shoulder strain.
Given that he's been diagnosed with a strain of his shoulder rather than soreness or inflammation, Burns appears destined to miss multiple weeks rather than the minimum seven days. The 23-year-old right-hander had made five starts for Akron this season, submitting a 1.69 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 27:11 K:BB across 21.1 innings.

Indians' Tanner Burns: Makes return from IL
Burns (elbow) tossed three innings of one-run ball in his return to the High-A Lake County rotation Aug. 5, giving up two hits and two walks while striking out six.
Lake County reinstated Burns from the 7-day injured list ahead of the start after he had been out for approximately three weeks with right elbow soreness. The No. 36 overall pick in the 2020 first-year player draft has submitted a 3.63 ERA and 1.13 WHIP through 12 starts with Lake County this season.

Indians' Tanner Burns: Hits injured list
Burns (elbow) was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list with right elbow soreness.
Burns has pitched decently at High-A Lake County, posting a 3.67 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB through 11 starts. He began to struggle a bit in recent starts, and now he'll be inactive for at least a week while dealing with elbow soreness. There is no timeline for the 22-year-old's return yet.

Indians' Tanner Burns: Strong campaign at High-A
Burns has a 3.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 59:15 K:BB across 10 starts with High-A Lake County this season.
The 36th overall pick in last year's draft, Burns has looked good in his first pro campaign, though it's worth noting that the 22-year-old has scuffled recently -- he's compiled a 4.67 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in his last four outings -- and is averaging less than five innings per start. Nonetheless, Burns appears to be developing well overall, justifying his draft position and his status as one of Cleveland's top prospects. Considering that he didn't pitch all that many innings in college, the team is likely to take a slow and steady approach to his development, but he's one to watch.
