Cosgrove allowed one run on one hit with two strikeouts across one inning in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Dodgers.
Cosgrove spoiled the shutout by serving up a solo shot to Kolten Wong to lead off the ninth inning but managed to work through the next three batters to finish out the game. The southpaw has been a steady member of the bullpen in September, pitching to a 1.50 ERA and 0.33 WHIP across six innings with seven strikeouts.

Cosgrove (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day injured list Saturday.
Cosgrove returns to action after spending the minimum 15 days on the injured list while dealing with a left hamstring strain. Padres' Tom Cosgrove: Call-up official
The Padres recalled Cosgrove from Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.
Cosgrove will head to the big leagues for the first time since entering the professional ranks in 2017 as a 12th-round draft pick. He'll be joining the San Diego bullpen as another left-handed option after southpaw Ryan Weathers was sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Over his seven appearances with El Paso this season, Cosgrove struck out seven and had allowed just five baserunners in 7.1 innings.

Padres' Tom Cosgrove: Receiving MLB promotion
The Padres plan to call up Cosgrove from Triple-A El Paso prior to Wednesday's game against the Cubs, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Cosgrove has gotten off to a nice start at El Paso, having yet to allow a run over 7.1 innings out of the bullpen while striking out seven, although he has issued four walks in that timeframe. The 27-year-old left-hander will be making his MLB debut when he appears in a game with San Diego.

The 26-year-old pitcher had a slim chance to make the Opening Day roster to begin with, but now he will officially be starting the year in the minors. Cosgrove recorded a 4.80 ERA and 1.23 WHIP through 30 frames in Triple-A last season.
