  • Cardinals' Nick Raquet: Heading back to minors

    The Cardinals optioned Raquet to Triple-A Memphis on Friday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

    Raquet was unscored upon in his first two major-league appearances this week, but he'll now head back to Memphis. John King (back) has returned from the 15-day injured list to take Raquet's roster spot.

  • Cardinals' Nick Raquet: Call-up official

    The Cardinals selected Raquet's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

    The 29-year-old southpaw reliever earned a promotion after posting a 1.68 ERA and 57:9 K:BB over 48.1 innings between Double-A Springfield and Memphis this season. Raquet will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

  • Cardinals' Nick Raquet: Call-up on tap

    The Cardinals are expected to call up Raquet from Triple-A Memphis on Monday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

    Raquet has produced a 4.05 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 19 strikeouts over 13.1 innings in 11 appearances with Triple-A Memphis since being promoted from Double-A Springfield in late July. The 29-year-old has yet to make his MLB debut, but he could do so during the Cardinals' three-game series in Seattle that begins Monday.

  • Cardinals' Nick Raquet: Gets minor-league deal from Cards

    Raquet signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals on Jan. 16.

    Raquet, 28, was a solid prospect with the Nationals a few years ago but was out of professional baseball from 2020-22 before resurfacing in independent ball with the York Revolution in 2023, posting a 3.71 ERA and 133:40 K:BB over 145.2 innings. The left-hander figures to open the 2024 season as part of Triple-A Memphis' rotation.
