Rays' Colby White: Sent to minor-league camp
White (elbow) was optioned to minor-league camp by the Rays on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
White is recovering from Tommy John surgery last April, and the right-hander is hoping to contribute sometime over the summer. Because he won't be ready until at least June, there's a chance that White could be moved to the 60-day injured list if Tampa Bay needs room on the 40-man roster.

Rays' Colby White: Throws bullpen session
White (elbow) threw his fourth bullpen session Wednesday since undergoing Tommy John surgery, RaysRadio.mlb.com reports.
White underwent Tommy John surgery last April and is hoping to be game-ready by June. He was added to the Rays' 40-man roster over the offseason and is a good bet to make his major-league debut at some point in 2023.

Rays' Colby White: Protected from Rule 5 draft
White (elbow) was added to the Rays' 40-man roster Tuesday.
White underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2022, but the Rays will still protect him from the Rule 5 draft by adding him to the 40-man roster. The 24-year-old had a 1.44 ERA in 43 games across four minor-league levels in 2021, and he could be ready for game action during the middle of next season.

Rays' Colby White: Undergoing Tommy John surgery
White was placed on the 7-day injured list Tuesday and will undergo Tommy John surgery.
White had a strong 2021 campaign in which he progressed from Low-A to Triple-A, but he'll be forced to miss the entire 2022 season following his procedure. He made nine appearances at Triple-A Durham last year, posting a 1.86 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 9.2 innings, and he'll attempt to build upon his success at some point in 2023.
