  • Tigers' Eduardo Jimenez: Recalled from Triple-A

Jimenez was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Monday.

With the regular season over, this transaction is purely procedural. It likely indicates that Jimenez will be on the big-league club in spring training, though he's not guaranteed anything more than that, as he threw just 10.2 major-league innings this season.

  • Tigers' Eduardo Jimenez: Sent back to minors

Jimenez was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.

Jimenez is likely unavailable for a few days after logging 2.1 innings in relief during Wednesday's 8-1 loss to the White Sox, so he'll head back to the minors in exchange for a fresh bullpen arm. The Tigers are expected to announce a corresponding roster move prior to Thursday's series opener against Kansas City.

  • Tigers' Eduardo Jimenez: Heads to Double-A

The Tigers optioned Jimenez to Double-A Erie on Tuesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Along with Jimenez, fellow pitchers Casey Mize and Eduardo Paredes were assigned to minor-league camp, reducing the team's big-league contingent to 56 men. Jimenez was never viewed as a serious candidate for an Opening Day roster spot after pitching exclusively at High-A Lakeland last season. He turned in a 3.42 ERA and 1.64 WHIP across 50 innings, all in relief.

  • Tigers' Eduardo Jimenez: Sent to High-A

The Tigers optioned Jimenez to High-A Lakeland on Tuesday.

Detroit opted to protect Jimenez, a 22-year-old reliever, from the Rule 5 draft and added him to the 40-man roster over the winter after he put up a 2.13 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 60 strikeouts across two levels in 2017. Since most of Jimenez's best work came at Low-A West Michigan, he'll open the 2018 campaign in the Florida State League, where he saw his performance dip a bit following a midseason promotion.
