The outfielder went 1-for-7 with a walk, three strikeouts and a run scored over his three-game rehab stint in the Florida Complex League. Over 26 games at Single-A this season, Tavera has struggled to a .173 average with two doubles, a triple, seven RBI, nine runs scored and 12 stolen bases.

  • Orioles' Braylin Tavera: Goes on minor-league IL

Single-A Delmarva placed Tavera on its 7-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder sprain, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Tavera hadn't played since Friday due to the injury. The 19-year-old outfielder has looked overmatched thus far across his 110 plate appearances in the Carolina League, slashing .173/.264/.214 with a 20.9 percent strikeout rate.

  • Orioles' Braylin Tavera: Shows off tools in FCL

Tavera slashed .262/.391/.421 with four home runs and 13 steals in 35 games in the Florida Complex League.

He shows advanced plate skills, logging a 17.3 percent strikeout rate and a 16.5 percent walk rate. Among FCL hitters 18 and under, Tavera's 0.96 BB/K ranked seventh, and he was tied for 12th in the league with 13 steals. Tavera is a plus runner who should be able to stick in center field. He is adept at getting the ball in the air (37.6 percent groundball rate) and could break out next season at Single-A.
