Inohan Paniagua: Released by Cardinals
The Cardinals released Paniagua (undisclosed) on Tuesday.
Paniagua broke out in 2022 when he posted a 2.81 ERA and 145:39 K:BB over 137.2 innings between Low-A Palm Beach and High-A Peoria. However, he's struggled to replicate that success since then and has made just one appearance in 2025 due to an undisclosed injury. Paniagua is just 25, so he should be able to find another opportunity elsewhere if he can overcome his health issue.

Cardinals' Inohan Paniagua: Back from injured list
Paniagua (shoulder) was activated from High-A Peoria's injured list Friday.
Paniagua missed the first three months of the campaign while dealing with shoulder tightness. He logged 3.2 scoreless innings while allowing three hits and two walks with six strikeouts over three appearances with the Cardinals' FCL affiliate. Paniagua will likely spend the rest of 2023 with Peoria.

Cardinals' Inohan Paniagua: Battling shoulder tightness
Paniagua was placed on the 7-day injured list at High-A Peoria on Monday with shoulder tightness, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports
After landing on the IL on Monday, the details of the 23-year-old righty's injury have officially been revealed. Paniagua logged a 4.42 ERA and 1.31 WHIP over 38.2 innings upon being promoted to Peoria last season, and it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined.

Cardinals' Inohan Paniagua: Banged up at High-A
Paniagua is on the 7-day injured list at High-A Peoria with an undisclosed injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports.
The 23-year-old righty had a 2.81 ERA and a 145:39 K:BB in 137.2 innings in the lower minors last season. Scouting reports suggest Paniagua has the ceiling of a back-end starter due to his lack of a plus secondary offering and his fringe-average fastball velocity.
