Mets' Tom Hackimer: Signs minors deal with Mets
Hackimer signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Sunday.
The 26-year-old righty had spent the entirety of his professional career in the Twins' organization before he was released in early June. In 12.1 innings across the two highest levels of the minors this season, he owns a 6.57 ERA, striking out 27.3 percent of opposing batters but also walking 24.2 percent. He'll serve as organizational depth for the Mets for now.

Tom Hackimer: Released by Twins
The Twins released Hackimer on Tuesday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
Hackimer struggled immensely in five innings of relief work this season with Triple-A St. Paul, posting a 16.20 ERA and walking an egregious 15 batters. Disastrous as his first Triple-A action was, the righty may have trouble landing a contract with another organization this season.

Hackimer was activated from the MiLB disabled list Tuesday after missing time due to a left ankle sprain, but he'll go back on the shelf despite not appearing in a ballgame. He's struggled at High-A Fort Myers this season, owning a 6.20 ERA with a 21:16 K:BB over 24 frames.

Hackimer (ankle) was reinstated from the 7-day disabled list Tuesday, Brandon Warne of Zone Coverage reports.
Hackimer was only sidelined for 11 days after suffering a left ankle sprain during an outing against St. Lucie on July 18. The right-hander will return to action with High-A Fort Myers, where he's posted a 6.20 ERA and 1.74 WHIP this season.
