  • Yankees' Adam Kloffenstein: Signs with New York

Kloffenstein and the Yankees agreed on a minor-league contract Sunday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports. Kloffenstein will join the Yankees organization after he produced a 6.26 ERA and 1.61 WHIP with 90 strikeouts over 82 innings in 19 appearances, including 16 starts, with Triple-A Buffalo in 2025. The right-hander also received an invite to the Yankees' spring training in February, where he'll look to impress to potentially earn a shot with the major-league roster in 2026.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Kloffenstein: Cleared for return

Kloffenstein (shoulder) has posted a 2.38 ERA and 1.94 WHIP with a 15:9 K:BB across 11.1 innings so far this season at Triple-A Buffalo. Kloffenstein began the 2025 campaign on the injured list due to right shoulder fatigue. He'd looked sharp up until his last outing Saturday against Worcester, when he surrendered three runs on three hits and seven walks over 2.2 innings, his first earned runs allowed on the year.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Kloffenstein: MRI on shoulder is clean

Kloffenstein is dealing with right shoulder fatigue but recently underwent an MRI that came back negative, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. Kloffenstein missed the final two months of the 2024 season with a right shoulder injury, so it's certainly not ideal that he's still battling shoulder issues. However, the expectation is that he'll be ready to resume throwing in a few days. Kloffenstein projects to open the 2025 season in the rotation at Triple-A Buffalo, and while his 2024 numbers were impacted by his health, he produced a 3.16 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 140:55 K:BB over 128 innings in 2023 between Double-A and Triple-A.

  • Blue Jays' Adam Kloffenstein: NRI deal with Toronto

The Blue Jays signed Kloffenstein (shoulder) to a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to spring training Tuesday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Kloffenstein missed the final two months of the 2024 season with a right shoulder injury and was non-tendered by the Cardinals even though he was not yet eligible for arbitration. It's not clear what his health status is, but the Blue Jays felt good enough about the righty to invite him to camp. Kloffenstein was dealt from Toronto to St. Louis at the 2023 trade deadline as part of the return for Jordan Hicks.

  • Adam Kloffenstein: Non-tendered by St. Louis

The Cardinals non-tendered Kloffenstein (shoulder) on Friday. Kloffenstein was placed on Triple-A Memphis' 7-day injured list in late July due to right shoulder discomfort, and the injury was serious enough for him to be sidelined for the rest of the 2024 campaign. He went 4-5 across 17 starts in Triple-A and posted a 4.74 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 73:41 K:BB across 89.1 innings.

  • Cardinals' Adam Kloffenstein: Out with shoulder injury

Kloffenstein was placed on Triple-A Memphis' 7-day injured list Wednesday due to right shoulder discomfort, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. The right-hander made his major-league debut June 20 with a scoreless inning against San Francisco, but he's otherwise spent the campaign at Triple-A. Kloffenstein's shoulder is still being evaluated, so it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined.

  • Cardinals' Adam Kloffenstein: Officially promoted

The Cardinals recalled Kloffenstein from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday. After putting up a 3.97 ERA and 1.13 WHP through 77 innings at Triple-A, Kloffenstein will now come up from the minors to give St. Louis another multi-inning relief option in its bullpen. He'll take the place of Chris Roycroft, who was optioned to Memphis in a corresponding move.

  • Cardinals' Adam Kloffenstein: Headed to majors

The Cardinals will recall Kloffenstein from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. Kloffenstein has spent all season with Memphis, posting a 3.97 ERA and 1.13 WHIP through 77 innings across 14 starts. Although he has been used almost exclusively as a starter throughout his minor-league career, he will likely be used as a multi-inning reliever while with St. Louis. The 23-year-old righty will be making his MLB debut whenever he gets into a game.

  • Cardinals' Adam Kloffenstein: Optioned to Triple-A

Kloffenstein was optioned to Triple-A Memphis by the Cardinals on Friday, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Kloffenstein earned a spot on the Cardinals' 40-man roster after registering an impressive 3.16 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 140:55 K:BB over 128 innings in 2023 between Double-A and Triple-A. If Kloffenstein is effective with Memphis early in the season, he could see some time in the majors in 2024.
