Brewers' Brett Wichrowski: Makes season debut
Wichrowski (undisclosed) struck out four and allowed one hit and four walks over three scoreless innings Sunday in his season debut for Double-A Biloxi after being reinstated from the 7-day injured list.
The Brewers never provided a clear explanation for why Wichrowski missed the first month of the Double-A season, but the right-hander linked back up with Biloxi over the weekend and should gradually increase his pitch counts in his future starts. Wichrowski finished the 2024 season at Biloxi, where he turned in a 4.00 ERA and 61:36 K:BB across 74.1 innings.

Brewers' Brett Wichrowski: On IL at Double-A
Double-A Biloxi placed Wichrowski on its 7-day injured list Friday due to an undisclosed injury.
Prior reports suggested that Wichrowski was held back in extended spring training because he was waiting for room to open up in an affiliate's rotation, but that didn't quite pass the smell test, and indeed, the power righty will open the season on the shelf. He had a 3.84 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 82 strikeouts in 89 innings last season, with the majority of his action coming at Double-A.

Brewers' Brett Wichrowski: Stretching out in Arizona
Wichrowski is stretching out in extended spring training and will join an affiliate when he's ready and there's room in a rotation, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
He was throwing in spring games, so it's possible Wichrowski suffered some sort of ailment between then and when the Brewers announced their minor-league rosters, but for now he's not considered injured. Wichrowski threw 89 innings last season, so he shouldn't have notable workload restrictions this year in the minors. He could be assigned to Double-A or Triple-A after logging a 4.12 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 74.1 innings last year at Double-A.

Brewers' Brett Wichrowski: Moves up to Double-A
Wichrowski was promoted from High-A Wisconsin to Double-A Biloxi on Tuesday.
Arguably the biggest dynasty riser among pitching prospects early in the season, Wichrowski was drafted by Milwaukee in the 13th round last year and given a $100,00 bonus. This year, he showed up to spring training touching 100 mph with his fastball after sitting in the low-90s in college, and Wichrowski sat at 94-97 mph with his fastball in four starts for High-A Wisconsin. The 21-year-old righty had a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 21:3 K:BB in 14.2 innings prior to his promotion. In addition to his big fastball, Wichrowski boasts a plus mid-80s slider. He could finish the year as one of the best pitching prospects in baseball if he stays on this trajectory.
