Top Alejandro Rosario News

  • Rangers' Alejandro Rosario: Still hasn't had surgery

Rosario (elbow) has not had surgery yet, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Grant adds that the Rangers and Rosario are working through some unrelated issues, so this situation is incredibly murky. The team announced in February that Rosario would need Tommy John surgery, but for whatever reason, he still hasn't had the procedure or advanced down a non-surgical path of recovery. At this point, we can probably rule out Rosario pitching in minor-league games in 2026, unless he attempts to come back without having the surgery.

  • Rangers' Alejandro Rosario: Return timeline cloudy

Rosario (elbow) had not had surgery yet as of April, per Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News.

There are plenty of rumors circulating online that Rosario still hasn't had the procedure, which was recommended in February. Even if Rosario had the procedure in July, he could potentially miss the entire 2026 season. Rosario was trending toward being a top-five pitching prospect at the time of his injury, so he's still worth stashing in most dynasty leagues, but it's a mystery as to when we'll see him healthy and pitching in games again.

  • Rangers' Alejandro Rosario: Out for season with elbow injury

Rosario needs elbow surgery and will be sidelined for the entire 2025 season, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

It's not yet clear what type of surgery Rosario will undergo or what his timeline will be for returning to action beyond the fact that he won't pitch this season. According to Rangers general manager Chris Young, the elbow issue is an "acute injury" that Rosario felt after tossing a bullpen during spring camp. Rosario emerged as one of the organization's top prospects after posting a 2.24 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 129:13 over 88.1 innings between Single-A and High-A ball last year.

  • Rangers' Alejandro Rosario: Promoted to Double-A

Rosario has been promoted from High-A Hickory to Double-A Frisco, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Rosario earned the promotion after collecting a 2.24 ERA and 129:13 K:BB over 88.1 innings between Single-A Down East and Hickory. The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the best pitching prospects in the Rangers' system.

  • Rangers' Alejandro Rosario: Bumped up to High-A

Rosario was promoted from Single-A Down East to High-A Hickory on Tuesday.

A fifth-round selection in last year's draft out of Miami, Rosario has big-time stuff, but his 7.11 ERA and 1.63 WHIP as a junior led to him sliding in the draft. The Rangers gave him a comfy assignment to the lowest full-season level of the minors, and Rosario dominated, logging a 2.11 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and a 69:5 K:BB in 47 innings across 10 starts.
