Angels' D'Shawn Knowles: Opens in extended ST
Knowles is opening the year in extended spring training, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.
It seemed like Knowles did enough last year against rookie-level pitching to be given the challenge of an assignment to Low-A this year, but the Angels apparently don't think he's quite ready. He should open the year back in the Pioneer League, but should finish the year in the Midwest League.
