Top Alec Burks News

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Bounces back with 19 points

Burks totaled 19 points (6-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal in 33 minutes during Sunday's 118-88 win over the Magic.

This was a nice bounceback effort for Burks, who struggled in Saturday night's loss to the Cavs, finishing with just 11 points on 3-of-9 shooting in 28 minutes. Overall, it's been an up-and-down year for the Colorado product, but he's come on strong over the final month of the season. Entering Sunday, Burks was averaging 15.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.0 threes over his previous 10 appearances.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Struggles in loss

Burks registered 11 points (3-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and one assist over 28 minutes before fouling out of Saturday's 119-101 loss to the Cavaliers.

Burks' single assist was his lowest mark since he failed to record one Feb. 27, and his 11 points were his fewest since March 20. However, he at least extended his streak of double-digit scoring to 10 games.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Three-pointer seals win

Burks supplied 18 points (4-6 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Sunday's 104-102 win over the Pistons.

Burks provided two key plays down the stretch, including a final three-pointer that put the game out of reach. Burks has enjoyed a productive March, averaging 13.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists over 14 games.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Fills stat sheet Wednesday

Burks posted 17 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 121-106 victory over the Hornets.

Burks continues to produce for the Knicks, and while the accuracy is not a consistent part of this game, that won't matter much if he keeps producing every time he steps on the hardwood. He's scored in double digits in all but one of his last eight games while reaching the 15-point mark four times in that span.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Relatively quiet in win

Burks racked up 10 points (3-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal over 27 minutes during Wednesday's 128-98 win over the Trail Blazers.

Burks continues to be the every-night starter at point guard for the Knicks, but his production has remained modest and mostly inconsistent. Burks may be of use to some deep-league managers in need of points, rebounds and assists, but he's shooting just 37.6 percent from the field since the All-Star break.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Logs double-double with 11 boards

Burks closed with 15 points (4-13 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds and five assists in 39 minutes during Wednesday's 107-77 victory over the Mavericks.

Burks recorded double-digit rebounds for the first time this season, resulting in a rare double-double for the journeyman guard. With Kemba Walker (rest) shut down for the remainder of the season, Burks' role has solidified over the past month.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Puts up 15-4-4-2-1 in win

Burks produced 15 points (5-10 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal across 26 minutes during Sunday's 116-93 win over the Clippers.

After posting 16 points, nine boards, six assists, a steal and a block in Friday's narrow loss to Phoenix, Burks followed up with another strong, all-around effort. Over the two-game span, Burks is a combined 8-of-14 from three-point land.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Draws second straight start

Burks will start at point guard in Sunday's game against the 76ers, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.

Burks will remain on the top unit for the second straight game out of the All-Star break after the Knicks and Kemba Walker mutually decided that he would sit out for the rest of the season to focus on regaining strength in his knee in advance of the 2022-23 campaign. While stepping into the starting lineup for Walker in Friday's 115-100 loss to the Heat, Burks played 34 minutes and finished with 12 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds and two assists. Burks' playing time should be robust moving forward, though efficiency figures to be an issue for the 30-year-old, who is converting at a lowly 38.2 percent clip from the field through 59 appearances this season.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Stuffs stat sheet Thursday

Burks accumulated 15 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-9 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Thursday's 116-114 victory over Golden State.

Burks continues to come off the bench for the Knicks but has been extremely productive in that role. He has scored in double digits in five of his last six appearances as a reserve. He's averaging 12.7 points while shooting 51.2 percent from the field and 45 percent from three-point range in that span. Those numbers are not sustainable, however, and he seems bound to regress sooner than later.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Coming off bench

Burks will come off the bench Tuesday against the Nuggets.

Burks returns to the bench following a one-game stint in the starting five due to the absence of Kemba Walker, who was out for rest but is back Tuesday. In his last six games as a reserve, Burks has averaged 8.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 19.8 minutes.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Enters starting five

Burks is starting Monday's game against Utah, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.

Burks will get a chance with the first unit due to Kemba Walker's (rest) absence. Burks' last start dates back to Jan. 23 against the Clippers, when he finished with 10 points, three rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 30 minutes.

  • Knicks' Alec Burks: Solid performance off bench

Burks finished with 12 points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes during Saturday's 122-115 overtime loss to the Lakers.

While Kemba Walker drew the start, Burks played more minutes than him and outproduced him in every major statistical category. The Knicks' point guard position continues to be a revolving door, which makes it difficult to trust any of them. Over his last six games, Burks has averaged 8.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists across 19.8 minutes, but that includes a 21-point performance and a scoreless outing.
