  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Logs 15 points vs. Washington

Bane totaled 15 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three assists and two rebounds over 24 minutes during the Magic's 120-112 loss to the Wizards on Tuesday. Bane and the rest of the Magic starters did not play in the fourth quarter while facing a 26-point deficit, as head coach Jamahl Mosley opted to stick with the bench during a furious comeback in the final frame that ultimately fell short. Bane's 24 minutes were his lowest since Nov. 4 against the Hawks (23 minutes), and the sixth-year pro, along with fellow starters Paolo Banchero, Tristan da Silva, Anthony Black and Wendell Carter, will look to bounce back in the second leg of the Magic's back-to-back set Wednesday against the Nets.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Hits for 31 in Sunday's win

Bane ended with 31 points (12-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals in 37 minutes during Sunday's 135-127 victory over the Pacers. The 27-year-old wing dialed up his first game with 30-plus points since Dec. 20, reaching the 30-point threshold for the fourth time since the beginning of December. Over 16 games during that stretch, Bane is averaging 20.5 points, 4.8 boards, 4.8 assists, 2.1 threes, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 steals per contest.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Good to go Wednesday

Bane (back) is available for Wednesday's game against the Pacers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Bane dealt with back spasms in Monday's loss to Toronto and was deemed questionable for Wednesday's contest. However, the 27-year-old swingman will shed that tag and keep his record of perfect attendance this season alive. The sixth-year pro has averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 blocks in 34.0 minutes per tilt across his last five games.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Scores 24 points Saturday

Bane had 24 points (7-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 10-10 FT), one rebound and six assists in 38 minutes during Saturday's 127-126 win over the Nuggets. Bane didn't make a single three-pointer for the second straight game, as he shot 0-for-6 from downtown in the loss to the Hornets on Friday. However, that inefficiency didn't stop Bane from posting a solid stat line across the board. This was the fourth time Bane scored at least 20 points in his last five appearances, and he's firmly entrenched as one of the most reliable offensive weapons for the Magic. Bane has 20 or more points in six of his 12 appearances in December, so his fantasy upside would be even higher if he were able to increase his efficiency.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Excellent on both sides in win

Bane notched 23 points (6-15 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), four rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three steals in 36 minutes during Tuesday's 110-106 win over the Trail Blazers. Bane added three blocks and three steals to a productive offensive result in Tuesday's win. He was especially effective in the closing minutes, swatting a key shot as the Trail Blazers tried to hold onto a slim lead. Bane got the help he needed from the rest of the squad after an uninspired loss Monday night to the Warriors. With two of the year's final four games against the Pacers and Hornets, Bane should be able to finish 2025 strong against a couple of weak opponents.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Logs 20 points in loss

Bane had 20 points (8-16 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 33 minutes during Monday's 120-97 loss to the Warriors. Although Bane shot 50 percent from the floor and finished with a strong number, the loss of Franz Wagner (ankle) is putting a lot of undue pressure on Bane and the core of Orlando's first unit. The Magic have gone 2-3 without Wagner, and although Bane has averaged 23.6 points per game in his absence, the rest of the team hasn't offered the same level of support.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Scores winning layup in OT win

Bane racked up 32 points (13-21 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block over 39 minutes during Saturday's 128-127 overtime win over the Jazz. Bane sealed the victory with a driving layup to the basket with less than a second remaining in the overtime period. This was an excellent bounce-back performance from Bane, who was held to just six points on 3-for-11 shooting his last time out, and he also snatched a steal after failing to do so during Thursday's loss to the Nuggets. While there have been some low points, Bane has been mostly solid over the past month, flirting with top-50 value behind averages of 21.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.0 triples per contest.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Posts dud in loss

Bane produced six points (3-12 FG, 0-5 3Pt), two rebounds, eight assists and two blocks across 36 minutes during Thursday's 126-115 loss to the Nuggets. For the sixth time this season, Bane was held to single-digit points. His usage rate fluctuates a lot in Orlando, but this can simply be chalked up to an off night during a tough matchup. For the season, Bane holds averages of 18.5 points, 4.7 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 1.7 three-pointers.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Drops 37 points in NBA Cup quarters

Bane posted 37 points (14-24 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal over 38 minutes during the Magic's 117-108 win over the Knicks during Tuesday's NBA Cup quarterfinals matchup. Bane and the Magic got off to a slow start to Tuesday's NBA Cup clash, but the sixth-year guard proceeded to score in double digits in each of the final three quarters of the game, including 15 points in the fourth, to help punch a ticket to the NBA Cup semifinals Saturday. Bane has scored exactly 37 points in three of his last six games, and he has opened his first year in Orlando averaging 19.0 points, 4.5 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 1.8 threes and 0.8 steals over 33.2 minutes per game.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Hits for 16 in Sunday's loss

Bane closed Sunday's 106-100 loss to the Knicks with 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 34 minutes. It was another fairly quiet offensive performance from Bane, who has just 35 points total in his last three games -- less than the 37 he dropped in back-to-back contests on the Pistons and Bulls on Nov. 28 and Dec. 1. The Magic saw Jalen Suggs (leg) and Franz Wagner (lower leg) leave Sunday's game early however, and if either or both of those injuries prove to be serious, Bane's usage could skyrocket. He's scored in double digits in 13 of the last 14 games, averaging 21.1 points, 4.7 assists, 4.5 boards, 1.9 threes and 0.9 steals over that stretch.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Drops in 37 points in win

Bane ended with 37 points (12-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 10-10 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Monday's 125-120 victory over Chicago. Bane has had a blistering hand over the past two games, going 25-for-42 from the field while amassing 74 total points. The Magic have now won three in a row and six of their past seven games, and Bane is a big reason why they've managed to stay afloat despite not having Paolo Banchero (groin). Orlando will seek its fourth straight victory Wednesday against the Spurs.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Logs 19 points in win

Bane accumulated 19 points (7-18 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 40 minutes during Friday's 105-98 victory over the Nets. Bane found success from beyond the arc Friday, drilling three triples for a second straight game. Despite a strong performance against Brooklyn, he entered the day hitting at an unimpressive 30.2 percent from downtown through 12 appearances this season, which is down substantially from the 39.2 percent he hit at through 69 games a year ago with Memphis. The good news is that Bane will continue to be asked to put up shots for the Magic as the season rolls on, giving him plenty of opportunities to get back on track.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Hits game winner and goes for 22

Bane totaled 22 points (9-19 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and seven assists over 33 minutes during Monday's 115-112 win over Portland. Bane had a relatively modest night from beyond the arc, missing all five of his three-point attempts until the very last possession, where his last-second heave went in at the buzzer, ultimately winning the game for Orlando. Bane also tied his early season high in assists with seven and will look to build on his momentum Wednesday against the Knicks.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Tossed Tuesday

Bane was ejected in the third quarter of Tuesday's game against the Hawks after being assessed both a Flagrant 1 foul and a technical foul, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Bane was tossed with 5:24 remaining in the third and will finish the game with nine points (2-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal across 23 minutes. With the 27-year-old swingman unavailable, Anthony Black and Jase Richardson are candidates for increased minutes the rest of the way.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Limited scoring impact in big win

Bane recorded five points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), five assists and two steals in 20 minutes during Saturday's 125-94 victory over the Wizards. Bane finished in single digits for the second straight game Saturday, though it didn't impact the Magic's dominant win. Acquired from the Grizzlies this offseason to bolster perimeter scoring, the sharpshooting guard has struggled to find his rhythm, connecting on just 25.8 percent of his attempts from deep. Through seven games, the 27-year-old is averaging 14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists -- all notable declines from his 2024-25 production.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Fouls out in loss to 76ers

Bane fouled out of Monday's 136-124 loss to the 76ers, finishing with 24 points (10-17 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist over 34 minutes. Bane fouled out for the first time in two seasons Monday, and he definitely picked up some frustration fouls along the way while seemingly perturbed by Tyrese Maxey getting the better of him all game long. He also struggled from distance, which has been a team-wide trend for Orlando over the past two games when the Magic has converted just 22.4 percent of their three-point looks.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Dishes five assists in loss

Bane posted 15 points (5-14 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds and five assists across 33 minutes in Friday's 111-107 loss to Atlanta. Bane did not shoot well from beyond the arc Friday, but was able to provide value in the rebounds and assists categories. With Jalen Suggs (knee) doubtful to play in the second leg of a back-to-back, Bane may be tasked with more playmaking responsibilities as the Magic take on the Bulls on Saturday.

  • Magic's Desmond Bane: Fills box score in Orlando debut

Bane logged nine points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and three assists over 13 minutes during the Magic's 126-118 preseason win over the Heat on Saturday. Bane made the most of his limited playing time Saturday and finished tied with Alex Morales for most dimes on the team. Bane spent the first five seasons of his NBA career with the Grizzlies but will don a Magic jersey for the 2025-26 campaign after being traded my Memphis to Orlando in mid-June. Bane finished the 2024-25 regular season averaging 19.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.2 steals over 32 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Strikes for 23 in Saturday's loss

Bane produced 23 points (7-20 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds and five assists over 38 minutes during Saturday's 117-115 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. The fifth-year wing stepped up with his best scoring performance of the playoffs in the absence of Ja Morant (hip), but it wasn't enough to prevent Memphis from getting swept. Bane stayed relatively healthy in 2024-25, making 69 regular-season appearances after managing a combined 100 games the two seasons prior, giving him something to build on heading into 2025-26.

  • Grizzlies' Desmond Bane: Struggles offensively in loss

Bane finished Thursday's 114-108 loss to the Thunder in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 10 points (3-14 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals across 37 minutes. Bane was unable to find any rhythm on the offensive end, shooting no better than 25 percent from the field for the second time in the past three games. With Ja Morant (hip) in some doubt for Game 4, the Grizzlies will need Bane to step up should they have any hope of forcing a Game 5.
