Derek Willis: Double-double in win
Willis finished with 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt), 10 rebounds, two steals and one assist during Thursday's 112-102 win over the BayHawks.
The former Kentucky standout has been a fine contributor to the Drive this season and Thursday was no different, adding his eight double-double. So far, Willis is averaging 11.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest across 39 games played.

Derek Willis: Will miss next two games
Willis will miss the next two games due to participating for Team USA in FIBA World Cup Qualifying.
Willis was added to the 12-man roster for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup Qualifying games which will conclude on Feb. 26 and resume in June. As a result, the first-year player out of Kentucky is expected to return to the Drive when they host the Mad Ants on Feb. 28. Willis is averaging a fine 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds across 33 games played this season.

Derek Willis: Waived by Pistons
Willis was waived by the Pistons on Monday, Rod Beard of the Detroit News reports.
Willis saw just two minutes of action during the preseason with the Pistons, which wasn't enough time for him to make a lasting impact on the coach staff. He's now been let go ahead of the regular season, though he's expected to join the Pistons' G-League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Drive, for the upcoming campaign.
