George was dialed in, missing only one shot while he was out there, and he was one of the few Washington players to finish with a positive plus-minus rating. George showed some impressive flashes last season, but he may struggle to assert himself in the offense when working alongside Trae Young, Anthony Davis, AJ Dybantsa and Alex Sarr.

George contributed across multiple categories, finishing tied for second on the team in rebounds and leading Washington in assists. George also showed his well-known ability to stretch the floor, and he was one of four Wizards who drained multiple threes in this win. The third-year guard looks penciled in to open the 2026-27 regular season as the Wizards' starting shooting guard, and his combination of playmaking, rebounding and perimeter shooting makes him an intriguing fantasy contributor.

George (elbow) finished with nine points (4-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes for Canada in Friday's 110-84 World Cup Qualifiers win over Puerto Rico.
George missed the end of the 2025-26 regular season with a Grade 2 distal UCL tear in his left elbow, but he's since been deemed 100 percent. The Wizards are noticeably deeper heading into 2026-27, as Anthony Davis (finger) is expected to be healthy, and the team drafted AJ Dybantsa with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

George displayed intriguing playmaking ability and positional versatility during his sophomore campaign. However, the Wizards now possess considerable depth on the wing, including fellow talented youngsters Tre Johnson and Bilal Coulibaly. George is currently penciled into the starting lineup, but his offensive opportunities may fluctuate depending on lineup combinations. George has been sidelined since March 2 due to a Grade 2 distal UCL tear in his left elbow, and the Wizards had no incentive to rush him back to the court for the last couple of weeks. George is dealing with a Grade 2 distal UCL tear in his left elbow, an issue that has kept him sidelined since March 3. The Wizards are planning to take a conservative approach with George, so it wouldn't be surprising for next week's update to rule George out for the season. While George has been out, Will Riley and Jamir Watkins have taken on larger roles. The Wizards have six regular-season games after George's set re-evaluation date of April 1.

The Wizards announced Wednesday that George has been diagnosed with a partial tear of the UCL in his left elbow and will be re-evaluated in three weeks.
George sustained the injury in Monday's loss to Houston and won't return until late March at the very earliest. With the Wizards sitting at 16-45 on the season, it wouldn't be surprising to see the club exercise extreme caution with the second-year wing for the remainder of the season.
