Bass was let go by the Jets on Friday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
Bass, predominantly a special-teams role player, registered a career-high 3.5 sacks with the Jets last year. A deep Jets defensive front made Bass the odd man out, so the five-year veteran will look for another home around the league.

Jets' David Bass: Re-signs to stick around Big Apple
Bass re-signed with the Jets on Monday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Bass likely will be of most service via special teams, but don't be surprised if the 27-year-old is used in several defensive packages in 2018. Last season, Bass registered a career-high 3.5 sacks in 13 games. The arrivals of Avery Williamson, Kevin Minter and Kevin Pierre-Louis could stymie Bass' ability to regenerate that production, but the new contract suggests the Jets still see Bass as a good fit.

Bass was just released by the Seahawks on Tuesday, but it didn't take the five-year veteran long to find a new home. The former seventh-round pick is expected to serve as a reserve option on the Jets' defensive front.

Bass was released by the Seahawks on Tuesday, Adam Caplan of ESPN.com reports.
Bass only managed one tackle so far this season, playing mostly in a special team's role with the Seahawks. The team will now go ahead with four defensive ends on the active roster, with Dion Jordan (knee) currently on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.

Seahawks' David Bass: Signs with Seahwaks
Bass signed with the Seahawks on Monday, The Seattle Times reports.
Bass was drafted by the Raiders in the seventh round of the 2013 draft. The Missouri Western State product has played 49 games over the previous four seasons with the Bears and Titans. After moving to outside linebacker in the Titans' 3-4 defensive scheme, Bass is expected to return the outside rusher role he played in Chicago's 4-3 defense. He projects to provide depth at defensive end.
