Rhaney became an expendable asset following the team's decision to bring in guard Kyle Fuller. The 26-year-old has played for three teams over his four-year career and appeared in one game for the Redskins over the last two seasons.

Rhaney signed a contract with the Redskins on Wednesday.
Rhaney joins the 53-man roster after Washington placed fellow offensive lineman Jonathan Cooper (biceps) on injured reserve. Expect the 26-year-old to serve in a depth capacity over the Redskins' final four regular-season contests.

Redskins' Demetrius Rhaney: Signs with Washington
Rhaney and the Redskins agreed to a contract Tuesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
With Spencer Long (quadriceps) requiring season-ending surgery and hitting injured reserve, Rhaney will replace him on the 53-man roster to provide another option at center. Long's replacement in the starting lineup, Chase Roullier, came out of Sunday's loss to the Saints with a hand injury and is uncertain to play Thursday against the Giants, potentially paving the way for Rhaney to log significant snaps right away for Washington.

Rhaney was claimed off waivers by the Jaguars on Wednesday, Adam Caplan of ESPN.com reports.
It didn't take long for the center to find a new home after he was waived by the Rams on Tuesday. The 2014 seventh-round selection will now compete for a reserve spot on the offensive line.

Rhaney was released by the Rams on Tuesday, Christina Phillips of Precision Sports Management announced.
Rhaney spent three seasons with the Rams as a backup center after being drafted by the team in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The Rams now have Austin Blythe and Jake Eldrenkamp as backup center options to starter John Sullivan.
