Canady (concussion) was designated to return from IR and then subsequently activated from IR on Saturday.
Canady has been out since Week 6, when he suffered a concussion against the Patriots. His return will strengthen the depth in the Cowboys' secondary, starting Sunday against Washington.

Cowboys' Maurice Canady: Placed on IR
Canady (concussion) was moved to injured reserve Tuesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The cornerback suffered the head injury in Week 6 against the Patriots and will now be out for a minimum three weeks while on IR. Kelvin Joseph (groin) is close to returning from IR and may end up picking up some of the slack for Canady in the Cowboys' secondary.

Cowboys' Maurice Canady: Ruled out Sunday
Canady has been diagnosed with a concussion and will not return to Sunday's game against the Patriots, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
If there is good news here for Canady, it's that the Cowboys have a bye in Week 7, so he gets two weeks to recover. His absence will mostly be felt on special teams.

Cowboys' Maurice Canady: Back in Dallas for 2021
Canady is returning to the Cowboys after opting out of the 2020 season, David Helman of the team's official site reports.
Canady has yet to take the field for Dallas after signing with the team back in March 2020, as the cornerback chose to opt out of last season. A veteran originally drafted by the Ravens in 2016, Canady will now be competing for a roster spot in the Cowboys' secondary during their upcoming training camp.

Cowboys' Maurice Canady: Accepts voluntary opt-out
Canady will not play in 2020 after accepting the NFL's opt-out option for the year, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Canady agreed to a one-year contract with the Cowboys in March. The 2016 sixth-round pick appeared in 13 games, including three starts, with both the Jets and Ravens last season. He will now set his sights on a return in 2021.
