The Lions released Jacobs (undisclosed) on Wednesday on an injury settlement, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Jacobs had previously reverted to the Lions' injured reserve after going unclaimed off waivers over the weekend. He'll be free to sign with another team once he heals up.
