L.J. McCray: Let go by Buffalo
McRay has been released, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
The Bills are pretty set at safety and haven't suffered any major injuries at the position this summer, so cutting McCray seems to be one of the easier decisions the team will have to make ahead of Sunday's 53-man roster deadline.

Panthers' L.J. McCray: Signs with Panthers
The Panthers signed McCray to a reserve/future contract.
McCray didn't play in 2016 after playing with the 49ers in 2015. He'll compete for a role on special teams and as a depth safety with Carolina in 2017.

49ers' L.J. McCray: Trade nullified, will rejoin 49ers
McCray will return to the 49ers after his trade Saturday to the Seahawks for an undisclosed draft pick was voided due to a failed physical, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
The 49ers' willingness to trade McCray away prior to roster cut-down day suggests that the safety might not have made the squad, so there's no guarantee that he'll stick around for Week 1 now that he's back in San Francisco. Even if he remains on the roster heading into the opener, McCray will only be a depth safety and may even be one of the team's game-day inactives.

Seahawks' L.J. McCray: Traded to the Seahawks
McCray was traded to the Seahawks on Saturday in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick, CSN Bay Area reports.
The 49ers secondary had become too crowded for McCray so they decided to send him to Seattle for a, likely, late-round draft pick. McCray should serve a similar role in Seattle as he did in San Francisco, providing secondary depth and help on special teams.
