Chase Harrell: Back from suspension
Harrell's suspension was lifted Monday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Harrell was suspended for the entire 2021 season, likely due to a violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy. Harrell has spent time on the 49ers' practice squad during his two seasons in the NFL, but he has not yet appeared in a game.

Chase Harrell: Suspended for 2021
The NFL announced Wednesday that Harrell has been suspended for the 2021 season, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
While on San Francisco's practice squad last season, Harrell served a six-game ban for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy. His latest suspension is most likely the result of another violation of the PED policy. The 49ers waived the tight end in April.

The 49ers activated Harrell (undisclosed) from the practice squad COVID-19 list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The 49ers then signed Harrell to a reserve/future deal, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area. As an undrafted rookie out of Arkansas, Harrell spent much of the 2020 campaign on San Francisco's practice squad.

Harrell and fellow practice squad member Josh Hokit were both placed on the list. It's not known at this time whether either player tested positive for the virus themselves or came in close contact with somebody who tested positive.
