The Titans waived Smith on Saturday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Smith was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list earlier the same day. After having spent much of the 2019 season on the Titans' practice squad, Smith will now look for a depth opportunity with another club.

Titans' Josh Smith: Placed on COVID list
Smith was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the Titans on Monday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
As part of the pact between the league and its players, Smith will need to gain proper medical clearance before he is allowed to rejoin his teammates. Smith was a regular with the Titans' practice squad during the 2019 season and earned another year with the club this offseason.

Josh Smith: Signs with Titans' practice squad
Smith (undisclosed) was signed to Tennessee's practice squad Tuesday, John Glennon of The Athletic reports.
When last heard from, Smith had reverted to the Titans' injured reserve with a still undisclosed injury issue. The 22-year-old is at least healthy enough to play now.
