Maggio had been in minicamp with Atlanta. With Maggio out of the picture, the Falcons' punting competition is down to veteran Bradley Pinion and undrafted free agent Seth Vernon.

Maggio was waived with an injury settlement by Atlanta following final roster cuts. While it is unclear what injury he was dealing with at the time, his work out with the team indicates he has recovered.

Maggio (undisclosed) reverted to Atlanta's injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL's official transactions report.
Maggio was waived with an undisclosed injury Tuesday, so after going unclaimed, he has reverted to IR. Cameron Nizialek will enter the 2021 regular season as the Falcons' starting punter.
