Falcons' Frank Darby: Limited to five games in Year 2
Darby caught his lone target for 15 yards across five appearances during the 2022 campaign.
Darby, a 2021 sixth-round pick, joined the Falcons' practice squad after failing to make the initial 53-man roster, but he earned a spot on the active roster by the end of November. He appeared in four of the team's final seven games -- drawing DNP-CDs three times -- and secured his lone catch of the campaign in Week 18 when he played a season-high 27 offensive snaps against Tampa Bay. Darby will be a free agent this offseason, and given the drop in playing time from his rookie campaign, it seems unlikely that either party has any interest in a reunion.

Falcons' Frank Darby: Joins active roster
The Falcons signed Darby to their active roster off the practice squad Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Darby was a sixth-round pick by Atlanta in the 2021 draft, but he's failed to make many waves in the NFL thus far. The wideout caught one pass on four targets over 10 contests in 2021 and has yet to see a target while playing just 10 offensive snaps for Atlanta so far this year. The Falcons have a mostly healthy wide-receiver corps, so Darby shouldn't be expected to play a major role on offense moving forward.

Frank Darby: Heads back to practice squad
Darby reverted to the Falcons' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Darby was elevated for the second time this season ahead of Sunday's win over the Bears. However, the 25-year-old wideout did not record a target while playing three of his 17 snaps on offense Week 11. Darby will now be eligible for one more elevation while on Atlanta's practice squad this season.

Falcons' Frank Darby: Will be active versus Chicago
Atlanta elevated Darby from its practice squad Saturday for Sunday's matchup against Chicago, William McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
Darby will be active for just the second time this season and the first time since Week 3. He didn't see any targets across seven offensive snaps against Seattle and figures to garner a similar role in Week 11.
