Henderson's practice squad contract with the Eagles expired Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Henderson joined Philadelphia's practice squad in mid-October, but he was never promoted to the 53-man roster despite the team's numerous injuries at running back. The 2017 sixth-round pick appeared in eight games between the Broncos and Jets over the previous two seasons but didn't see game action in 2019.

De'Angelo Henderson: Could join 53-man roster
Coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Henderson could be promoted to the Eagles' active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Darren Sproles (hip) is out for the season and Jordan Howard (shoulder) could be sidelined this weekend, leaving the Eagles searching for backfield depth. Henderson signed to Philadelphia's practice squad in mid-October after spending most of the offseason with Minnesota. Former Eagle Jay Ajayi is also scheduled to work out for the team Friday.

The Eagles signed Henderson to the practice squad Monday, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
Henderson spent much of the offseason in Minnesota, but he ultimately didn't make the team's final roster. He now lands on the practice squad of an Eagles team which recently placed Corey Clement (shoulder) on injured reserve. If Henderson is able to show well on special teams, he could potentially be promoted to the active roster later in the season.

Henderson failed to find playing time with the Broncos and Jets during his first two seasons, and it does not look like the third time will be the charm in Minnesota. Still, this is not much of a surprise given the Vikings' depth at running back. He could still potentially land on the team's practice squad during the regular season.

Vikings' De'Angelo Henderson: Finds the end zone
Henderson ran for 59 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries and added a eight-yard catch during Thursday's 27-23 preseason loss to Buffalo.
Henderson came into Thursday having been fairly productive this preseason, with 78 yards on 17 carries. He obviously added to that total significantly Thursday while also punching in his first touchdown, a three-yarder early in the fourth quarter. Offensive headman Gary Kubiak is familiar with Henderson from his time in personnel in Denver, but with a full running-back room and no real need at returner, Henderson doesn't have an obvious spot on this team.

Henderson rushed seven times for 42 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Saints, but it's unclear if that is when he suffered the injury. Regardless, Henderson should be considered day-to-day, but with a sprained ankle, it wouldn't be surprising if the tailback missed a couple more practices.

Henderson faces an uphill battle to win a roster spot, as the Vikings may carry just three running backs, and the top two spots (Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison) are likely set. With Ameer Abdullah likely to win the kick return job, Henderson will need to beat out Mike Boone and hope the Vikings keep more running backs.

Henderson was waived by the Jets on Tuesday after spending most of 2018 on their practice squad. He'll need to battle for a spot on the 53-man roster in Minnesota, where the backfield depth chart contains Alexander Mattison, Mike Boone and Ameer Abdullah behind lead option Dalvin Cook. The Vikings reduced their numbers at the position earlier in the week by cutting Roc Thomas (suspension).
