    Cioffi re-signed with the Jets on Friday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

    Cioffi was waived by the team earlier in the week and subsequently cleared waivers. He did not have to look far for a new team, as the Jets are giving him another shot. He served as a safety for Ottawa in the CFL over the past two years.

    Cioffi served as a safety for Ottawa in the CFL over the last two years, and the Jets picked him up in February. The Jets got their first look at him in training camp, and he didn't last long. Cioffi has plenty of time to find a new team before season openers begin, but he may opt to head back to Canada, too.
