Daikiel Shorts: Still in Buffalo's plans
Shorts, an undrafted rookie from West Virginia who missed the final 53-man roster, was brought back to the practice squad Sunday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Both Shorts and fellow receiver Brandon Reilly made a late push for a roster spot -- even though neither made the team. The two players will now get their chance on the Bills' practice squad. For a team whose third receiver is Andre Holmes and whose fourth and fifth guys are more known for their return skills, there's opportunity to be had if they keep showing well.

Daikiel Shorts: Misses cut
Shorts will be waived Saturday, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
Shorts, an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia, only emerged as an long-shot roster candidate with some decent preseason play. He seems to be a prime candidate for the practice squad.

Bills' Daikiel Shorts: Turning heads
Shorts has six catches for 59 yards through two preseason games and may have put himself into consideration for a final roster spot, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Shorts is an undrafted free agent that just came off a nice career at West Virginia. While there's not much explosiveness to his game, he's versatile and has good hands. Jordan Matthews, Zay Jones and return guru Brandon Tate already appear locked into roster spots, while the veteran trio of Andre Holmes, Rod Streater and Philly Brown seem like the best bets for the remaining spots. However, Holmes hasn't done much of anything in a month and Streater is hurt, so the door seems at least slightly ajar for Shorts. Nevertheless, the more likely scenario is that the Bills will try and sneak Shorts onto the practice squad.
