  • Isaiah Winstead: Waived by Jets

Winstead was waived by the Jets on Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.

Winstead was signed by San Francisco as an undrafted free agent last May and spent most of the season on the team's practice squad. He signed with the Jets in early August of this year and got four targets during preseason play but didn't catch any of them.

  • Jets' Isaiah Winstead: Signed by Jets

The Jets signed Winstead on Friday.

Winstead bounced in and out of San Francisco's organization throughout the 2023 season but never made it past the practice squad. During a stint with the UFL's Arlington Renegades during their recent season, the 6-foot-4 wide receiver recorded 12 receptions for 175 yards and two touchdowns. The undrafted East Carolina product will have a long way to go to see the field with the Jets, but nothing is out of the question, especially after he gained experience in the UFL.

  • Isaiah Winstead: Let go by 49ers

San Francisco cut Winstead from its practice squad Thursday.

San Francisco picked up Winstead after he went undrafted this past offseason, and he's spent the majority of the year with the 49ers' organization. The rookie wideout has yet to appear in his first NFL game after logging 1,083 receiving yards and six touchdowns in his first and only season at East Carolina.

  • Isaiah Winstead: Back with San Francisco

The 49ers signed Winstead to their practice squad Wednesday.

A rookie UDFA, Winstead didn't make the 49ers' initial 53-man roster after catching all four of his targets for 54 yards across two preseason contests. The 6-foot-4 wideout will get a chance to continue his development with the 49ers, but he's unlikely to see an elevation barring numerous injuries to San Francisco's wideout corps.

  • Isaiah Winstead: Sent packing by San Fran

Winstead was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Winstead landed in San Francisco in May after going undrafted. He was competing for a depth receiver role with the club, as well as the opportunity to contribute on special teams. While he failed in the end in terms of making it through final roster cuts, it remains to be seen if the 49ers will give him a chance on their practice squad.
