Steinmetz (undisclosed) has been activated off Washington's practice squad reserve/COVID-19 list.
Steinmetz has seemingly cleared the league's health and safety protocols and is set to return to practice. Washington has just one game left this season, so it remains to be seen if he will have the opportunity to get called up to the 53-man roster.

Washington placed Steinmetz (undisclosed) on its practice squad COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Steinmetz will have to clear protocols before returning to team facilities. The practice squad offensive lineman has been elevated for only one game this season, so his potential absence shouldn't impact Washington's active roster.

Steinmetz signed with Washington's active roster Saturday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Steinmetz has been brought up to the active roster to help boost the team's depth at tackle. Morgan Moses (groin) and David Sharpe (knee) are both considered questionable for Sunday's matchup with the 49ers, so Steinmetz could potentially see some time on the field.

Steinmetz was just waived by the Texans last week. He will now get another chance in Washington, but he will likely need to make an impression in order to have any chance at landing on their final roster. He suffered a broken ankle during training camp last season and is looking to bounce back.

Steinmetz suffered a broken ankle last season during training camp and spent the entire 2019 season on injured reserve. Now healthy, he'll look to sign on with another team in time for the regular season.

Texans' David Steinmetz: Out with fractured ankle
Steinmetz will miss the 2019 season after breaking his right ankle Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Steinmetz sustained the injury during practice and was carted off the field with his leg in an air cast. The 24-year-old underwent surgery Wednesday night and figures to be moved to injured reserve in the coming days.
