Cox's 2020 campaign in Miami has come to an early halt, as he's finished the season with two catches on as many targets for nine yards in eight games. He'll be a practice squad candidate upon potentially clearing waivers, but his 53-man roster spot has now been filled by Nate Holley.

Dolphins' Chandler Cox: Won't suit up Sunday
Cox (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Rams, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.
Cox handled a consistent workload before the bye week, as he logged at least 20 percent of the offensive snaps in three of four games. Coach Brian Flores has decided to play without a fullback against a strong Rams front seven, however, so Cox will watch from the sidelines Sunday.

The Dolphins did not actually have practice Wednesday, which is why Cox's status is just an estimation. Cox did participate fully in the last two practices of Week 16 before surprisingly being inactive on gameday. Assuming his status doesn't change over the rest of the week, the Auburn product will most likely return against New England on Sunday.
