Tim Ward: Let go Tuesday
Ward was waived by the Jets on Tuesday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Ward was one of three players cut by the Jets on Tuesday as the team begins to winnow down its 90-man offseason roster. The 25-year-old will now look to land with a new team where he can compete for a depth role at defensive end this preseason.

Jets' Tim Ward: Signs new deal
Ward signed a one-year contract with the Jets on Monday, Howard Balzer of SI.com reports.
Ward played in 11 games for the Jets last season, recording 12 tackles (five solo) and two passes defensed. It was the 24-year-old's most significant work since coming into the league in 2019 out of Old Dominion. Ward will work to earn a larger role with the Jets in 2022.

Chiefs' Tim Ward: Promoted to 53-man roster
Ward was activated to the Chiefs' 53-man roster Thursday, Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports reports.
Taco Charlton faces an extended absence after fracturing his leg during Sunday's win over Carolina, creating the need for some reinforcements at defensive end. Ward has yet to make his NFL debut since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Old Dominion, but he could get his initial opportunity for playing time Nov. 22 once Kansas City returns from its Week 10 bye. Last year was a wash for Ward, as he sat out his entire rookie season while recovering from ACL surgery.

Chiefs' Tim Ward: Practice squad candidate
Ward could be a candidate to land on the Chiefs' practice squad, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Ward missed the entire 2019 season while recovering from a torn ACL. Though he's now healthy, the Chiefs appear to view Ward more as a developmental option than as a player likely to immediately contribute in 2020.
