The Giants waived Peace on Sunday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
The Giants acquired a plethora of late-round rookie linebackers this offseason, which ultimately made Peace's roster spot expendable. The 25-year-old logged five total appearances between the Giants and Chargers last season.

Giants' Chris Peace: Competing with rookies
Peace (knee) will be competing with draft picks Cam Brown, Carter Coughlin and Tae Crowder for a roster spot in training camp, Matt Lombardo of NJ.com reports.
Brown, Coughlin and Crowder were all sixth- or seventh-round picks and don't have significant claim to a roster spot, but they may be more secured than the undrafted Peace. The 24-year-old was claimed off waivers by the Giants in late September and appeared in four games before suffering a knee injury down the stretch.

The Giants claimed Peace off waivers on Monday, Pat Leonard of NY Daily News Sports reports.
Peace's spot on the roster comes following the placement of Ryan Connelly (knee) on injured reserve. The undrafted rookie out of Virginia was released by the Chargers on Sept. 28, and he'll now work to carve out a depth role in New York.
