Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Finds twine in big win
Malkin scored a power-play goal and put two shots on net in Wednesday's 7-0 Opening Night win over Philadelphia.
For the second straight season, Malkin got involved on the Opening Night box score. To open the 2026-27 campaign, the 40-year-old forward scored Pittsburgh's first power-play goal of the evening early in the second period. He has officially started the 21st season of his illustrious NHL career, where he has scored 534 goals and posted 1,408 points across 1270 career regular-season games. Malkin is a staple in Pittsburgh's top six and should continue to provide solid offensive numbers for fantasy managers this season.

Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Signs one-year deal
Malkin agreed to terms on a one-year, $5.5 million contract with Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Malkin will be back for another year after inking a fresh one-year contract ahead of free agency opening July 1. The veteran center returns following a bounce-back year in which he generated 19 goals and 42 assists in 56 regular-season tilts. His potential for a regression year, especially considering he'll be 40 before the start of the 2026-27 campaign, will make him a risky option in season-long formats.

The 39-year-old has done his part so far, earning three points on the Penguins' four goals in this first-round series. Malkin has added five shots on net, three hits and four PIM this postseason, but he'll need to be at his best with Pittsburgh facing elimination Saturday in Game 4.

Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: One of each in loss
Malkin scored a goal, dished a power-play assist and added two hits in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Flyers in Game 1.
Malkin was rested a couple of times down the stretch, but he earned eight points over five outings in April to close out the regular season. The 39-year-old brings a wealth of experience as a part of three Stanley Cup-winning teams. In his postseason career, he has earned 68 goals and 114 assists over 178 appearances. The veteran forward proved he can still be productive during the 2025-26 regular season, compiling 61 points in 56 contests.

It was the third straight multi-point performance for Malkin, who's piled up four goals and eight points during that surge. In the process, the 39-year-old reached the 60-point mark for the 14th time in his career, and he sits one tally shy of his 16th 20-goal campaign.

Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Slides pair of helpers
Malkin supplied two assists and put two shots on net in Sunday's 5-2 win over Florida.
Malkin recorded a helper on both of Rickard Rakell's tallies Sunday, including his power-play goal late in the opening period. With the pair of helpers, Malkin is up to 41 assists, 59 points and 144 shots on net across 54 games this season. When healthy, the 39-year-old center has maintained his best point-per-game pace since the 2019-20 season. He has 12 points over his last eight games and should maintain high-level fantasy production for the remainder of the regular season.
