Blues' Jordan Nolan: Inks one-year deal with St. Louis
Nolan signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $700,000 with the Blues on Sunday, Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Nolan got a $700,000 birthday gift from his team with this contract, as the veteran forward turned 30 years old Sunday. He tallied just two assists in 14 NHL contests last year, splitting time between St. Loius and AHL San Antonio.

Blues' Jordan Nolan: Bumped down a rank
Nolan was reassigned to AHL San Antonio on Wednesday.
The Blues made a series of transactions ahead of Wednesday's game against the Ducks -- it's the final contest before the All-Star break -- with Nolan and Jordan Kyrou moving back to the AHL to allow the big club to activate Tyler Bozak (concussion) and Zach Sanford (concussion) from injured reserve. Obviously, Nolan won't be able to help fantasy owners away from the NHL, but he could return to the top level in February if the Notes require his gritty presence following the break.

Blues' Jordan Nolan: Shuffles up to big club
The Blues recalled Nolan from AHL San Antonio on Sunday, Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Nolan was a strong physical presence in a fourth-line role for the Blues in December, dishing out 19 hits and serving 14 PIM in 11 games while averaging just 7:38 of ice time. The Blues need extra players in case of further injury to their battered forward corps, but Nolan won't elevate past a bottom-six role.

Nolan cleared waivers Wednesday and was sent to AHL San Antonio.
Nolan was a healthy scratch Monday for the first time since his promotion to the top level, so it isn't surprising that this move followed considering he's seen less than 10 minutes of ice time in nine of the 11 games he drew into. The veteran winger will return to an organizational depth role, but he should be one of the first names recalled if injuries hit.

Expect plenty of waiver transactions across the NHL as teams resolve to tidy up their rosters on New Year's Day. Nolan is under a two-way contract with the Blues, so he's liable to go unclaimed and head to AHL San Antonio.

The veteran signed a deal with the Blues this offseason but was waived before the season began, landing him in the AHL. The 29-year-old has never had more than 10 points in a campaign and is really only being called up for depth with the Blues recently hit by injury.

Nolan inked a two-year, two-way contract with St. Louis on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Nolan hasn't played in the AHL since 2012-13; however, that is certainly a possibility after the 29-year-old agreed to a two-way deal. Last season with Buffalo, the center tallied eight points in 69 outings while averaging a paltry 9:48 of ice time. How much (or if) the Ontario native spends time in the minors will likely be determined during training camp.

Sabres' Jordan Nolan: Manages eight points in 2017-18
Nolan laced up the skates for 69 games in 2017-18, scoring four goals and four assists while logging 123 hits.
Although Nolan's never been much of a point scorer -- his career high is just 10 from 2013-14 -- his points-per-game went down in his first season in Buffalo, as he scored eight points as well last year in 23 less games with Los Angeles. The 28-year-old was still able to highlight a physical aspect of his game, as he had the second most hits of any forward on the team, and although a minus-13 rating isn't necessarily good, it was still fourth best out of players with 50 or more games on a poor Buffalo team. Nolan is set to be an unrestricted free agent, and he could very well find a new home for 2018-19.

Sabres' Jordan Nolan: Scores third goal in Wednesday's loss
Nolan scored his third goal of the season, and first since Nov. 22, in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Coyotes.
He also added four hits and two PIM, categories he's more accustomed to making his mark in. Nolan has neither the offensive talent nor the linemates to be a fantasy asset skating on a checking unit for the struggling Sabres.

Nolan recorded three hits in 8:40 of ice time in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to Montreal.
Despite finding a consistent role on the fourth line, Nolan has only been able to put up one assist in 15 games so far this season. He's still made his presence felt physically notching three or more hits in four games, but after not cracking the 10-point plateau the last three seasons, he's not likely to become fantasy relevant anytime soon.

Sabres' Jordan Nolan: Doubtful for Saturday
Nolan (healthy scratch) will likely be the odd-man out as Matt Moulson draws into the lineup Saturday against the Islanders.
Nolan played just 12 minutes against the Habs and posted goose eggs across the scoresheet. The normally physical winger had zero hits and zero blocked shots, and his invisible performance will see him get banished to the press box in favor of Moulson, who will make his season debut. Nolan will get other chances to draw back into the lineup, especially against heavier and more physical teams. His fantasy value is nil until he can establish a niche in the Sabres lineup, though.

Sabres' Jordan Nolan: Claimed by Sabres
Nolan was claimed by the Sabres on Wednesday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Nolan spent six years with the Kings before getting waived Tuesday; he appeared in 46 games last year, notching four goals and eight points. With the Kings looking to retool on the fly after missing the playoffs in two of the past three seasons, Nolan no longer had a part in the team's long-term plans. In Buffalo, where his father (Ted) was once the head coach, Nolan will likely assume a similar role, providing more physicality on a team that already has Evander Kane and Kyle Okposo. Nolan is in the final year of a three-year contract and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. His fantasy value is minimal in most leagues.

Kings' Jordan Nolan: Gets waived Tuesday
Nolan was waived by the Kings on Tuesday, James Mirtle of The Athletic Toronto reports.
A power forward listed at 6-foot-3, 219 pounds, Nolan has accumulated a mere 42 points (20 goals, 22 assists) in 292 career games with the Kings. His NHL resume features back-to-back seasons of 100-plus hits (2013-15), but zoning in on one-trick ponies is not a great approach to take in fantasy hockey. Besides, he's likely to clear waivers and head to AHL Ontario.
