Freddie Hamilton: Not tendered by 'Yotes
Hamilton was not tendered a qualifying offer from the Coyotes by Monday's deadline, so he'll be able to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent as soon as July 1, Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports reports.
Hamilton could wind up with his fifth team in as many years. He doesn't offer much in the way of offense, though he has compiled 135 hits over 75 career games and 9:19 of average ice time to check out as a gritty low-end contributor.

Coyotes' Freddie Hamilton: Skates for 16 games in 2017-18
Hamilton appeared in 16 games during 2017-18, notching an assist and 35 hits in the season.
When Hamilton was able to draw into the lineup, he just averaged 8:58 of ice time, and was largely used as a rotational fourth liner throughout the season. The Ontario native was able to provide strong physical play however, as his 35 hits average out to over two hits per game. The 26-year-old is on a one-way contract so he'll presumably stay at the NHL level for 2018-19 -- he wound up in the desert originally after he was placed on waivers by Calgary, so it seems likely Arizona or another team see him as an NHL caliber player -- but a rapid increase in points seems unlikely, as Hamilton just has six throughout 75 total games over the last five seasons.

Coyotes' Freddie Hamilton: Continues to watch from press box
Hamilton was a healthy scratch for the 15th consecutive game during Tuesday's 4-3 loss to Winnipeg.
After playing just eight games with the Flames, Hamilton was placed on waivers and claimed by the Coyotes on Jan. 4. He's yet to play for Arizona, so until he draws into the lineup, he's off the fantasy grid in all settings.

Hamilton was claimed off waivers by the Coyotes on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
The Flames decided to waive Hamilton, as they'd been struggling to find playing time for him since the team is flush with talented forwards. Hamilton could see a positive bump in fantasy value since he's heading to a young and rebuilding Coyotes system that has virtually no chance of making the playoffs. The 26-year-old has produced just six points (four goals, two assists) through 67 career games between the Sharks, Avalanche and Flames.

Hamilton has logged a mere eight games this season, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he was designated for waivers in the hope of reassigning him to AHL Stockton -- assuming he clears. In those eight outings, the center was limited to a paltry 7:38 of ice time in which he tallied one helper, five shots on goal and 16 hits.

Hamilton has been serving as a healthy scratch more often than not, and he's only registered over 10 minutes of ice time once this year. Because of his lack of playing time and minimal production, he can safely be avoided from a fantasy standpoint.

Not only has Hamilton hardly seen the ice when in the lineup (8:11 through four games), he's also been a healthy scratch in 16 of 20 contests this season. Additionally, he also cleared waivers earlier this month. It's probably best to avoid Hamilton in all fantasy settings moving forward.

The 25-year-old winger was great last year in the AHL, racking up 43 points in 62 games, but that success hasn't at all translated to the NHL level. Hamilton has been with the Flames all year but has only gotten into 18 games, so his development at this point is pretty much in limbo since he's spending most of his time in the press box -- rather than on the ice in Calgary or AHL Stockton.

Hamilton signed a two-year, $1.225 million contract extension with the Flames on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports, adding that it's a one-way deal.
Hamilton, a sizable two-way forward, joined the Flames organization ahead of the 2015-16 season. He dialed in 18 goals to complement 25 assists in 62 games with AHL Stockton on top of grabbing a goal and assist in a four-game stint with the parent club. Hamilton is a depth forward with a chance to secure a more substantial role once he gains more NHL experience.
